I grab it by the lbs, it has worms, babies, cocoons, and the microbial life that a worm bin needs. In this product, there is no separating valuable bedding from the worms. It's not the sterile products worms by the pound travel in, the worms travel in their own home. It's the more affordable way to grow worms. Remember it's a starter colony so you must be patient. Cocoons need time to hatch and babies need time to grow up. When you receive your order you must immediately place it in your container and wet it down as you GENTLY massage the water in. Cover the surface with a wet newspaper, a wet box, and the burlap wet. You must be home to receive your order.
