Before I ever started making food for tiny creatures, I was feeding big humans 😄 I spent years working as a chef in restaurants and cozy bed & breakfasts, where I learned that great food always begins with quality ingredients, patience, and a whole lot of love. That philosophy never left me—my audience just got a little smaller (and grew shells).
Today, many of the ingredients in my mixes start right in my 1,500 square foot garden. Leaves, herbs, flowers, and other goodies are grown the old-fashioned way: organically, carefully, and never sprayed with anything sketchy. If it wouldn’t meet my chef standards, it doesn’t make it into your crabitat. I also thoughtfully source certain ingredients from high-quality, sustainable herb and tea shops when needed.
My food mixes are created using established research and hands-on experience.  I’ve done extensive independent research of my own. I’ve been keeping hermit crabs since 1997 and have years of experience caring for and feeding isopods alongside them.

Every mix is prepared with the same care and attention I used in professional kitchens—thoughtfully balanced to nourish, enrich, and keep mealtime interesting for hermit crabs and isopods alike. Think of it as farm-to-shell dining. They may not leave reviews, but if they could, I’m pretty sure they’d ask for seconds 🦀🌱
